What is expensive down here is used for building material up there, but what is more precious than gold is your faith

Building Material
The twelve gates were made of pearls—each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass.
— Revelation 21:21 NLT

The wealth that is in Heaven is very different than the wealth here on earth. A lot of what we value here, such as rings, gold, silver, diamonds, and precious stones, are
considered building material in Heaven. The angels are probably eyeing the ring on your finger right now, saying, we can use that for the next street we pave in Heaven.

What is expensive down here is used for building material up there, but what is more precious than gold is your faith.

If you were to visit Hawaii, you might come across various places where they dive for oysters for you. You can pick your oyster, and they’ll open it up for you. It’s kind
of exciting to see if you’ll get an oyster with a precious pearl in it. While in Heaven, God makes a whole gate out of one pearl, which is very large. One gate is probably
equivalent to the size of the building we are in. It’s very big than one pearl. Can you imagine the size of the oyster? It’s like the size of a prehistoric animal. God uses a pearl that is bigger than anything that we could have down here that we think is precious. He uses that just as a gate, an entrance into the city. There are 12 gates in
the New Jerusalem and 12 very, very large Pearls. They are priceless. There's no way that you could put a price tag on them.

The street of the city in heaven was pure gold, and it was transparent as glass, which means that it had a degree of purity that's not even available here on earth. We have the color gold, and there are different colors of gold here. We have rose gold, yellow gold, and white gold. We have black gold, but that’s oil, and it doesn’t count. There are different colors, and that’s because of the light spectrum.

When you look at an object, it has the color it does because what comes back to your eye is at a certain
frequency. You have the spectrum of light, but we only see one-sixth of light, which is the whole rainbow on a color pie chart. All the light that's available to us in our
eyes is just one-sixth of all light. There are other realms of light that we don't see with our eyes because we're in a fallen state. We used to see all the different colors
in the infrared spectrum and other spectrums that are invisible to us now. When you look at gold, you see a certain spectrum, but the true spectrum of pure gold would be clear like glass. It's so pure that when you look at it, you see it as glass. You don't see a color. The gold down here isn't even close to the value of Heaven's gold.

Revelation 21:18 NLT: The wall was made of jasper, and the city was pure gold, as clear as glass.

You can get a hunk of Jasper on earth, but you don't get the amount you can build from. I've never seen even one piece of Jasper that's big enough to make a block. I'm sure there is, but I've never seen it. Can you imagine building the walls of the city? There are fifteen hundred square miles of the city’s dimensions, and the walls are fifteen hundred miles square. They’re that high, that wide, and that long. That’s a lot of Jasper. The city is also built in pure gold, so it isn’t just the streets; it’s the city as well. The buildings are pure gold and clear as glass. Everything that we call expensive down here is just building material there. What is even more expensive up there is the people that are there. Everyone that I met and saw up there was very expensive. Their value had gone up because of what God put into them to have them. He bought them, but their price was very high because He had to send His Son. The blood of Jesus is very expensive because of what it cost God to buy us back.
